An hour to stop. You lie back, close your eyes, and let a range of instruments do the work while your body finally settles. Nothing to learn, nothing to perform.
And one thing you won't find in an ordinary session: a singing bowl large enough to stand inside, where you feel a single tone travel up through you from the floor.
Everything provided. Come as you are. Limited spots.
For Workplaces
Picture your team at noon on a Friday, running on fumes with a full afternoon still ahead. Now picture them an hour later: calm, clear, actually present, and a little surprised at how good they feel.
I come to your office, transform a conference room, and your people lie back for an hour. No participation, nothing to change into, nothing to be good at. They go back to their afternoon sharper than they were, and it tends to be the one wellness offering people ask you to book again.
You provide a room and 60 minutes. I bring all the instruments and handle the setup; mats and props are sorted to suit your space and group
Fully insured · W-9 provided
Private Sound Baths
Birthdays, bridal parties, mom groups, retreats, or a backyard full of people who could all use an hour off. I bring the entire experience to your home or venue, anywhere in DC, Maryland, or Virginia.

About Linen Currents

You're the capable one. The one who holds it together, who gets it done, who other people lean on. And somewhere along the way, holding it together became a full-time job with no clock-out.
I know, because I was there. I had my daughter at 40, after two decades of building a life that ran on my own competence. Then postpartum anxiety and no sleep arrived together, and suddenly none of my competence worked. I was drowning, and everyone could tell. There was no pretending otherwise.
What I learned in that season is the thing nobody tells the capable ones: you can't think your way back to yourself. You can't push through it, out-plan it, or white-knuckle your way to calm. Your body doesn't work that way. It needs somewhere safe to set the weight down, and it needs that on purpose, not someday.
For me, that place was sound. As the fog started to lift, a sound bath was the one hour where my body could finally stop bracing. Not solve anything. Not achieve anything. Just rest, fully, for the first time in many months. And I noticed something: I didn't leave those hours fixed. I left them softer. More like myself. Able to walk back into my life with a little more room inside me.
That's what I do now. I bring that hour to the people who are hardest on themselves, the ones running on fumes and still showing up for everyone else. In gardens at golden hour, in living rooms full of friends, in conference rooms on Friday afternoons.
You don't have to have a particular belief. You don't have to be good at it. You just lie down, and for one hour, nobody needs a single thing from you. What you carry in, you get to set down. And when you get up, you leave lighter than you came.
If that sounds like something you or your people need, I'd love to play for you.

FAQs

What is a sound bath? A sound bath is an hour of deep rest set to sound. You lie back on a mat, get comfortable, and for about an hour I play a range of instruments, crystal bowls, a gong, chimes, and a few things you probably won't recognize, while you rest. Most people drift somewhere between awake and asleep and come up feeling deeply refreshed. Do I need any experience? None at all. There's nothing to learn and nothing to be good at. You lie down, close your eyes, and the sound does the work. First-timers make up most of every session. I can't quiet my mind. Will this even work for me? You're exactly who this is for. Your mind will wander, that's what minds do, and the sound will gently keep bringing you back. You can't do it wrong. What should I bring and wear? Just yourself and something comfortable. Come straight from work if you like. For public sessions, mats, blankets, and eye pillows are all provided. You're welcome to bring your own mat or blanket if you'd prefer. Is this religious or spiritual? No belief required, and nothing is asked of you. There's no chanting and no meditation you have to get right. It's simply an hour of sound and rest. What you bring to it is entirely your own. Are you insured? Fully. Certificates of insurance are available on request for venues and corporate bookings.
What an hour of sound actually does:
Your body stands down
"I walked in tense from a brutal week. About thirty minutes in, I almost couldn't remember what I'd been stressed about."
R., nurse, Bethesda
No skill required
"I'm the guy who's failed at every meditation app. This time I just laid there, and my mind cleared, and it was the most relaxed I've been in a while."
J., federal program manager, Washington D.C.
Rest that lasts past the hour
"I slept for longer than usual for the first time in a long time, and the calm actually hung around for a couple days."
M., new mom, Takoma Park
